Tawoos Presents: Dameer's House Ft. Jungli & Malfnktion
Welcome to Dameer’s house!
Having just moved to Toronto, Bangladesh’s viral dance pioneer is bringing together some of his favourite selectors in the city for a year-long series. Kicking off the series are two DJs, Bangalore’s indie dance cult hero Malfnktion and UK’s Punjabi bass community leader Jungli. Freshly produced desi dance music, like-minded community and grassroots venues. This is not one to miss.
Tawoos Presents: Queer Bollywood ft. DJ Heebiejabi & DJ Amita
Back by popular demand, a night of grooving on the dance floor, showing off our best fits, and going open to close with hits from across the subcontinent featuring two of Toronto's most iconic Queer DJs.
DJ Amita is a legend in the Queer Toronto music scene, as a director, producer and the founder and resident DJ of Besharam for the past 15 years, Canada's longest running and largest Bollywood club parties. Her DJing has roots in Desh Pardesh, women's and LGBTQ communities and she strives to always create an inclusive dance floor space for all those who shamelessly love Bollywood music.
DJ Heebiejabi is a Toronto-based Afghan DJ and organizer. She’s been spinning tunes for progressive organizations across the city for the past five years and is passionate about using music as a tool to bring people together in the name of revolutionary love.
